May 18: Cultural Presentation and Talent competition, at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, 5pm
May 19: Mall tours and Arrival of the Sigma Beta/Beta Sigma Convention Delegates.
May 20: MOTORCADE of the Candidates and the Delegates for the Sigma Beta National Convention
Grand Coronation Night at the Atrium, Limketkai Center, 7pm

Hiyas ng Mindanao 2007 Guidelines

Submission of requirements shall be accepted on or before March 15, 2007 at Hiyas ng Mindanao Secretariat Office, Door 5 Kagayhaan Bldg., Highway Apovel Subd., Zone 1, Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City. Deadline of submission will be on March 20, 2007. For Cities and Provinces, submission of requirements and application form shall be on or before March 25, 2007.

Note: Delayed submission of application form and requirements will not be entertained.

Official candidates are required to bring the following:

Ethnic attire
The attire must bear the distinct motif of the candidate’s own native tribe or the place she will represent.

• Style must be original and relevant to the theme “ENVIRONMENTAL TOURISM:
Experience Mindanao”
• Elaborate head wear and sequins are acceptable
• Accessorizing is permitted, not limited to the use of Mindanao’s native musical instruments
• Body painting and similar markings are not acceptable as accents, much less as a substitute altogether to an attire
• Use of torches and other sources of conflagration is prohibited
Long Gown
The long gown must be designed to evoke images of a pearl.

• Strapless and half-bareback patterns are acceptable
• Halter cuts must be kept simple
• A-lines, princess cuts and “Serpentina” designs are welcome
• Gowns with long trains are exempted
• The gown may be embellished with purely beaded ecru or white sequins

• Body foundation is not allowed
• Accessorizing is tolerated to a certain level

• Color of high-heeled shoes have to complement the color of the gown and accessories
• Nails must not be color-polished
• Use of hair extensions is not recommended
Swimsuit
The organizers shall provide uniform swimsuits for the contestants.

• Must be plain white in color
• Must be paired with a sarong of earth color
• French cut is not recommended
Video clip
Candidates are required to secure a brief video recording showing the environmental issues their respective communities have to contend with, such as denuded forests, polluted water, eroded land, etc. A second video clip is also required, showcasing the best eco-tourism attractions of Mindanao.
Talent
Candidates must choose between two categories of talent presentation, either Performance or Ethnic Presentation. They will be judged according to their chosen category. The winner of each category will receive a cash prize of P3,000.00, plus gift certificates from the sponsors.

• Duration of the presentation must be kept to a minimum of five (5) minutes and a maximum of six (6) minutes.

Official Rules and Regulations

Official Candidate must follow and complete the following qualifications and application requirements stated above.
Official candidates shall arrive Cagayan de Oro City on April 29, 2007 and the coronation Night on May 5, 2007 at the Atrium Center, Limketkai, Cagayan de Oro City.
Each room provided by the Hotel management will be occupied with (2) candidates and (2) mentors.
Candidate is allowed to bring one (1) mentor and one (1) make-up artist only.
No visitors are allowed to stay inside the room of the candidates except only the corresponding mentors registered on the particular room assigned.
Candidates and mentors must wear their identification cards provided by the organizer during official activities of Hiyas ng Mindanao 2007.
All accommodations are free during the whole duration of the event which starts on April 29 to May 5, 2007.
Food and beverages are provided by the organizer on the designated meal schedules.
Candidates will be given free swimsuit to be worn during the swimsuit competition as scheduled.
Candidates and mentors are required to follow the rules and regulations of the hotel management designated as the official residence of the competition.
In the event of any failure(s) or mistakes committed by the mentors and candidates inside the hotel, the Pageant organizer will have the right to impose any disciplinary action depending upon the degree of the offense made.
Candidates will be given a primer of the competition during arrival in Cagayan de Oro City with the corresponding schedules of activities programs and guidelines.
Candidates must follow and attend promptly the given schedules of activities prepared by the organizer.
Candidates are not allowed to go out without any permission from the official chaperon of Hiyas ng Mindanao Beauty Pageant Committee.
Candidates are under the responsibility and jurisdiction of 2007 Hiyas ng Mindanao Beauty Pageant Organizer under Sigma Beta Sorority Alumni Association, Inc. only during the period of the event. Failure to follow the stipulated rules and regulation of this contest mean disqualification of the candidate's participation of the aforesaid competition.
